11 NEHS Scholarship Foundation Awards

11 NEHS Scholarship Foundation Awards (Oline University Info) - The NEHS Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is pleased to announce the 2015 recipients of 11 awards to graduating seniors of North East High School who will be attending an institute of higher learning.

Since 2003, $1,000 awards have been given to 80 deserving students! This year's winners were honored at the 111th annual North East High School Alumni Banquet on June 13 at the North East VFW hall.

11 NEHS Scholarship Foundation Awards


Rebekah Lee, co-valedictorian, daughter of Andrea and Kun Chon Lee, was awarded the Charles Viars Memorial Scholarship. Rebekah plans to become a doctor, starting with a biology major at UCLA.

Dean Plamer, son of Debra and David Palmer, received an H.T. Russell Memorial Scholarship. Dean plans to attend Liberty University, having accepted an offer to pursue the challenges of pole vaulting there.

Alexandra Parker, daughter of Lesley Parker and Carl Parker, was given an H.T. Russell Memorial Scholarship. She hopes to eventually attain a position with the CIA, starting at Frostburg University.
Lane Schmidt, son of Kim and Tim Schmidt, was awarded the Catherine Craig Cahall Memorial Scholarship. He plans to pursue a career in environmental science, starting at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

Jessica Simonson, daughter of Ed Simonson, received the Lizetta Logan Rhudy Memorial Scholarship. Jessica plans to become a music teacher, starting at Cecil College.

Lila Lin, co-valedictorian, daughter of Gui Ying Chen and Zhi Yan Lin, plans on becoming a pharmacist, starting at Rutgers University.

Rebecca Davis, daughter of Donna Racine, also plans to pursue a career in pharmacology, starting at the University of Delaware.

Autumn Mahoney, daughter of Anita and Ed Mahoney, received the John Mars/ Class of '56 Scholarship. She plans to pursue a career in educational media, starting at Delaware College of Art and Design.

Online university

Jenna White, daughter of Heather and Chris White, was given the Janet Fanning Memorial Scholarship because she plans to pursue a career in nursing, starting at Cecil College.
